Job Description

Provide technical support to the Navy's In-Service Engineering Agent for the AN/SQQ-89 and/or Surface Sonar Systems including troubleshooting, repair, preventative and corrective maintenance and VME circuit board hardware. Recognize and interpret normal, casualty, and reduced capability operations for each Functional Segment. Tests and repairs or replaces electrical/electronic components and parts; localizes equipment malfunctions to system, subsystem, circuits, or parts. Perform AN/SQQ-89 and/or Software installations. Technical support for VME/UNIX based systems. Conduct analyses of associated equipment failures for warranty issues and/or failure mode trend assessment. Facilitate availability period reductions, overlaps, or similar effects caused by ship schedule changes.

Education

Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

 

Must have platform work experience and be a Former Navy Surface Sonar level II Technician who successfully completed Navy "C" School and NEC 0522.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Must have at least 3 - 5 years of experience troubleshooting, repair, and assessment experience AN/SQQ-89 and/or system required, and the experience must be recent within the last 10 years.

 

Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance. Able to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings. Must be able to lift forty pounds, climb ladders, and other shipboard activity. Must be willing to Travel.
