The Principal Systems Engineer reports to the Senior Project Engineer/Cross-Functional Teams Manager and will be responsible for leading, coordinating and managing the integration of processes, services and products across the program. The TPC is also responsible for supporting and coordinating the transitioning-in of other service providers as well as the integration of enterprise solutions into the Federal Agency’s IT environment. He/She leverages program management methodologies to engage internal and external resources to integrate services and products across the Federal Agency’s IT environment.  

  • Provides guidance and support to external and internal clients requiring integration into the Federal Agency’s IT enterprise. 
  • Establishes the rules of engagement for ensuring compliance with Service level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreement (OLAs). Also supports the implementation of corrective actions and process improvement.
  • Leads the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manages the SOP lifecycle for each program activity, monitors compliance, coordinates changes with SOP stakeholders, and maintains training to mirror production services. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned and participates in special projects as required.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Certifications - MCP, VMWare, ITILv3

Qualifications

  • 10 – 15 years Information Technology, Project Engineering or Enterprise IT Architecture experience
  • Hands-on experience as a lead architect/engineer supporting an enterprise Federal IT Infrastructure program
  • Experienced and effective leader of projects and teams, with emphasis on analytical, structural, infrastructure design and implementation of highly secure and redundant enterprise infrastructure systems.
  • Experience analyzing engineering solutions, isolating sources of problems, recommending reconfiguration and implementation of new solutions to increase performance.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated hands-on experience with VDI, Data Center Management & Enterprise IT Operations
  • Experience leading O&M activities for core infrastructure services.
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully managing and executing multiple projects simultaneously and managing to cost and schedule.
  • Ability to identify inefficient project/engineering practices and develop best practice solutions.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ability to provide technical supervision and leadership to other project engineers and project managers.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple service teams as well as Operational Divisions/Components to guarantee all key stakeholders were involved in the decision making process regarding department-wide settings and configurations for endpoints.
  • Experience managing enterprise high-priority information technology (IT) service delivery deployments that require interagency collaboration and an understanding of Government procurement and product lifecycle processes.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions to Senior Management.
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplined teams.
