Job Description

  • Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
  • Leads the research and development of new software products and applications on the leading edge of established knowledge and standards.
  • Conceives, designs, prototypes, and tests new methods, algorithms, and models.
  • Defines architecture requirements and performance standards to meet or exceed management and customer specifications.
  • Identifies and directs resolution of complex hardware/software interface issues.
  • Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  • Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel.
  • Serves as the primary customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software engineers, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Serves as a technical team or task leader.
  • May provide expertise to multiple projects and tasks.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.


1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


2. Masters Degree Preferred.


15-20 years of related software development experience.

Required skills:
Software design and development of web-based J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) applications`; Linux/Windows virtual servers; Amazon Cloud Services; ability to troubleshoot and fix JAVA-based configuration issues; PHP scripting; Jboss/Wildfly application server;  Mysql/Oracle database experience;
JAVA development experience required.
Must possess appropriate, current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either valid CompTIA Security+ CE OR CCNA-Security certification. Security+ CE Certification preferred. In addition, must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within six (6) months of Hire Date.

Database scheme designing; CISSP/CASP

Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities placed upon them. Privileged Users are subject to a zero tolerance policy for security violations.
