Job Description

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force and ready medical force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA supports the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high quality health services to Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and is responsible for driving greater integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS

Provides configuration management support to assigned projects. Reviews and evaluates software products and systems to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards. Develops software/systems testing procedures and conducts tests.  Be available for after-hours support to as needed for post patch testing of Production Servers and other maintenance as required.

 

  • Analyzes complex engineering change proposals to determine the effect on the overall system.
  • Ensures configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness, proper authorizations, and system updates.
  • Performs various audits and documents results.
  • Provide support to project teams in configuring and base-lining project items.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing CM processes.
  • Maintain data quality, integrity and security of CM database.
  • Schedule audits on CM database and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
  • Assist in management, maintenance and automating of CM tools.
  • Maintain proper version controls of software deliverables.
  • Oversee the delivery of software applications in test and deployment environments.
  • Analyze configuration issues and propose appropriate resolutions.
  • Develops configuration and data management documentation based on program requirements and maintain Configuration Management (CM) database.
  • Develops and implements new processes (CM, Quality Assurance/Testing).
  • Reviews and evaluates software products and systems to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards.
  • Establishes software quality standards for life cycle, documentation, development methods, testing, and maintenance.
  • Defines, develops and implements software/systems testing standards and procedures, and oversees testing.
  • Documents and analyzes test results, and makes recommendations to improve overall quality.
  • Oversees testing of purchased third-party software and/or services to ensure that company standards and end-user requirements are met.
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert conducting complex software/systems testing.
  • Experience in creating and executing detailed test cases for IT software development projects.
  • Document defects with detailed descriptions and supporting information.
  • Participate in defect triage and assist in root cause analysis of defects.
  • Verify test execution results and update traceability matrix.
  • Experience in testing ad-hoc and canned reporting applications.
  • Oversees quality-related training.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • May serve as technical team or task leader.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

 

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Configuration Management of MHS/DHA applications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
  • 8 - 10 years of related quality assurance experience.
  • 8-10 years of related configuration management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in quality assurance and software engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in configuration management support.
  • Advanced knowledge of and familiarity with configuration management software applications.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Ability to review, test and evaluate the work of others.
  • Strong innovative and analytical ability
  • Must be a team player and have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be fully competent to work under general direction on complex projects usually on specific assigned projects, issues and problems
  • Ability to multitask
