    General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) supports the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Our programs provide children in need with critical resources to assist them in becoming integrated members of American society.

    Unaccompanied alien children apprehended by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) immigration officials are transferred to the care and custody of ORR. ORR promptly places an unaccompanied child in the least restrictive setting that is in the best interests of the child, taking into consideration danger to self, danger to the community, and risk of flight. ORR takes into consideration the unique nature of each child’s situation and incorporates child welfare principles when making placement, clinical, case management, and release decisions that are in the best interest of the child.


    Supports technical training activities by setting up classrooms, workstations, and related equipment and systems.


    ***Candidates should live within commuting distance of the shelter location or be willing to be deployed to the shelter. These are 2-4 month positions that have the possibility of being extended. Notification of assignments will be 2-4 weeks prior to the start date.***

    • Assists senior personnel in ensuring that classrooms and equipment are accessible, operational, and available at all times.
    • Conducts basic hardware and software troubleshooting and refers problems to appropriate personnel.
    • Provides network troubleshooting and support.
    • Backs up file server data/disks.
    • Maintains and secures classrooms and related equipment.
    • Conducts preventative maintenance on training equipment, and reports on equipment status as requested.
    • Interacts with company and customer personnel to coordinate classroom schedules, student registration, activities calendar, and other tasks as required.
    • Maintains training records and prepares reports as needed.
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
    • Participates in special projects as required.




    • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Associates Degree preferred




    • 1-3 years of related experience supporting training activities.





    • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, public administration, public health or business administration.
    • Experience and education specific to work with children and adolescents, immigrant populations, case management, residential programs, supervision of staff or programs and training of staff.
    • Experience with web-based learning, development and/or evaluation of training curriculums.


    • Experience working with unaccompanied children's programs and/or training staff in social service settings.
