    Position Description: The C5AD College Technical/Engineering Intern provides cyber-related support across multiple cross-functional areas for the Deputy Director, C4 and Cyber (C5) Integration (DDC5I) C5 Assessments Division (C5AD) mission and Persistent C5 Environment (PC5E).

    General Duties: Performs technical tasks in support of engineering, information systems, or related technical operations based on demonstrated skills and experience. Tasks may include installation, maintenance and operation of computers and peripheral equipment, or performance of basic systems analysis and testing.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    0-1 years of experience in one or more of the following information technology functional areas:

    • Experience in Cisco network environments and local area networks using workstations, servers, gateways, hubs, routers, bridges, ATM switches and other data communications architectures
    • Experience with IP routing (including OSPF, BGP, EBGP, IBGP, BSR, and MPLS protocols), switching, and multicast
    • Experience in Microsoft computing environments employing Windows Server 2012/2016 and Windows 7/10 client operating systems
    • Familiar with virtualization techniques to simulate a hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or network resources
    • Experience in analyzing operating systems (Microsoft, Linux, Solaris) and network devices (Cisco IOS) for compliance with DISA STIGs
    • Experience in intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems, network traffic monitoring protocols, and DISA Host-Based Security System (ePO, HIPS, etc.)
    • Understanding of DHS and DoD policies and procedures, including FIPS 199, FIPS 200, NIST 800-53, DoD 8570.01
    • Ability to research policies, procedures, standards, and guidance then apply to specific conditions for protection of information and information systems

    Education

    Required Education:

    • High School Diploma
    • Must be a currently enrolled, full time college student
    • Programs toward Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline preferred

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications to Apply:

    • 3.0 GPA or greater
    • Problem-solving and decision-making ability
    • Leadership skills and an eagerness to learn
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be a U.S. citizen

    Required Qualifications to Begin Work:

    • Must have an active Secret security clearance
    • Certified DOD 8570.1-M IAT Level 1, must possess or obtain one of the following certifications for privileged access to the systems and networks: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, SSCP or CCNA-Security
