Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst to assist the project leader with analysis activities during the design, development, implementation and maintenance of business information systems specific to the respective application(s) they will be supporting. 


The Business Systems Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Work across multiple business and technical teams and guiding the development team to ensure quality project delivery through the Release Life Cycle utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Work with Business Project Leader on high-level reporting and Project Plans
  • Provide guidance to the technical staff, which involves developing ROMS to estimate the cost/schedule of new requirements, addressing questions from the developers and the business customers, testing the code, completing Technology Solution Life Cycle (TSLC) documentation, sending out release notes, notifying the customer of acceptance testing, updating the technical guides, coordinating with the release team, managing the verification process, and making sure that the code is properly deployed
  • Analyze and evaluate complex data processing systems, translating customer system requirements into detailed software requirements and supporting tasks utilizing Agile methodologies
  • Perform analysis to support the development and validation of requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline



  • 10-15 years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience
  • Knowledge of current information systems terminology, usage, hardware, software, communication and system components in support of technology solutions
  • Knowledge of multiple platforms and software: VB.NET, HTML, XHTML, T-SQL, SQL, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP.NET, XML, UNIX, Oracle, All Microsoft Office Applications, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio. SQL Developer, SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader, ServiceNow, VersionOne, HP ALM
  • Knowledge of current accepted industry best practices related to information technologies, system development life cycles, project planning, project management and technology solution development techniques. Experience working with Agile development methodologies. Responsibilities include management of multi-million dollar budgets and seeing through large-scale projects from inception to implementation
  • Knowledge of information systems, technology solutions, development methods, and industry accepted technology solution policies, procedures, standards and techniques. Versed in VersionOne, ServiceNow documentation, Security Policies and Best Practices
  • Ability to perform project management activities such as work breakdown, resource estimating, project planning, tracking/oversight, scheduling tasks, negotiating deliverables, project administration, status reporting, and measure performance against planned objectives
  • Ability to lead information systems professionals performing research, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation, administration and ongoing support of existing and proposed technology solutions; which includes assigning work, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and feedback
  • Foster a team atmosphere and encourage team members to contribute to innovative solutions
  • Ability to provide business area knowledge and technical expertise to management, customers, and business partners to facilitate planning and implementation of technology solution needs and requirements
  • Knowledge of technology solution development at a level sufficient to direct and manage a functional area's related planning efforts and activities, including the ability to provide alternative solutions to business needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with business customers, business partners, IT technology managers, project teams and technical staff to meet organizational goals
  • Ability to manage teams of employees and suppliers engaged in complex projects and initiatives to meet business and technology solution needs
