  • Job Description

    As a key member of the Executive Management team of a $1B+ division, the Staff Vice President of Finance/Division CFO will report to the GDIT VP Finance and CFO and assume a strategic role in the management of the division. The VP Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the division. This will include direct responsibility for contract financial management and indirect oversight of Financial Planning & Analysis, Government Compliance, indirect rates and new business pricing.

     

     

    Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

     

    • Responsible for all financial aspects of the $1B+ Intelligence (Intel) division
    • Direct the financial operations of the Intel division to achieve/exceed financial objectives for EBIT, Cash (DSO), Orders and Revenue
    • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the division's financial operations and performance.
    • Report division financial goals and performance on a regular basis to division senior management, GDIT and Corporate.
    • Participate in the development and presentation of the division's operating plans, strategic plans and quarterly reviews.
    • Ensure the enforcement of financial policies and procedures of the organization.
    • Develop cost-effective, efficient solutions to organizational objectives. Serve as an active and contributing member of the division Senior Leadership Team and the Finance Leadership Team.
    • Provide professional growth and career enhancement opportunities for finance department staff in order to increase their capacity and performance.
    • Manage effectively the division finance staff responsible for contract financial management & control.
    • Oversee support to internal and external audits of the division's financial performance and operations, as required.
    • Establish and manage annual operating budget, quarterly forecasting, indirect budgeting and management
    • Ensure compliance and understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, Sarbanes Oxley, and GDIT and GD Corporate Policy & Procedures.
    • Support program reviews to evaluate project planning and program progress
    • Support proposal preparation and review and pricing strategy as required
    • Identify project and business risk and implement risk mitigation activities.
    • Evaluate and lead the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
    • Provide overall thought leadership, mentoring and training for Finance staff.

    Education

    Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related discipline. MBA preferred.

    Qualifications

     

    Typically requires 15 or more years of related finance experience, including senior financial management experience with profit and loss responsibilities.

     

    • TS SCI W/Polygraph strongly preferred
    • Strategic initiatives, Risk assessment and mitigation
    • EBIT growth/Cash Management
    • Oversight on significant new strategically priced proposals.
    • Indirect budgeting and cost control.
    • Provide overall financial guidance and direction to Intel and finance organization.
    • Overall Intel level forecasting
    • Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of financial, technical, and marketing management. 
    • Ability to develop and implement policies, practices, and procedures. 
    • Significant proposal preparation and costing/pricing analysis skills. 
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, manage, and supervise the activities related to division operations. 
    • Demonstrated strategic planning skills. 
    • Demonstrated effective communication skills. 
    • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant corporate and government regulations and standards. 
    • Ability to interface with customers, clients, partners and senior staff at all levels of the organization.
