    This job positing is contingent upon contract award:


    The Software Development Lead will lead and direct software development activities for multiple mission critical software applications on a large government program.  This role is not only expected to include technical leadership responsibilities but hands-on software development responsibilities as well.


    • Directs and manages overall software architecture, roadmaps, and implementation efforts
    • Designs, develops, codes, tests, and debugs complex new software products, or makes significant enhancements to existing software.
    • Researches and integrates design strategies, product specifications, development schedules, and user expectations into product capabilities.
    • Resolves complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
    • Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
    • Researches emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution.
    • Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as design documentation, target state diagrams, user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
    • Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.
    • Advises infrastructure engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
    • Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress.
    • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software engineers.
    • May serve as a technical team or task leader.
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
    • Participates in special projects as required.


    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


    8-10 years of related software development experience.
    Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, methods, and techniques to include Agile/Scrum, DevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methods.
    Experience with Java/J2EE software development required.
    Experience with Atlassian suite of products (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
    Experience working with Oracle platforms to include middleware and database technologies.
    Experience with one or more of the following technology groups: Python, GitHub, Drupal, Alfresco
    Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly desirable.
    Experience providing technical leadership in a complex enterprise system of systems environment is highly desirable.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills with a confident and assertive demeanor.
