    General Dynamics IT has an immediate opening for a Documentum/EDMS Software Engineer in New Orleans, LA. 

    Strong EDMS/Documentum developer with proven experience in large web based applications initiatives. Requires strong knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in all phases of full life cycle applications and systems development, engineering, programming, and analysis at a highly technical level.


    • Provide support for an Enterprise Content Management solution according to the requirements for document management needs utilizing EMC Documentum platform based on J2EE framework to enable users to process content management functionality for desktop, portal and web-based applications.
    • Implement the required business rules for all document types utilizing the Documentum Composer
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
    • Designs and codes software components, units, and modules that meet product specifications and development schedules.
    • Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
    • Tests and debugs assigned components and units.Participates in large system and subsystem planning.
    • Collaborates with hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities.
    • Writes and updates technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
    • Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.
    • Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.


    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


    • 8-10 years of related software development experience.
    • Experience with Documentum 6x/7.x architecture including Documentum Content Server maintenance, Webtop customization, Full Text Index Server, Documentum Query Language, Web Developer Kit and Document Transformation Services.
    • Understanding of Java, XML, Workflows, Administration
    • Knowledge and experience with EDMS, requirements analysis, systems evaluation, systems design, complex database systems is highly desired.
    • Analytical ability, the discipline to maintain thorough documentation and commitment to client satisfaction are necessary.
    • Strong leadership, management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • EMC Composer is a required skill set.
    • Desired skills: xCP, DFS, DRS, Brava, Kofax, Oracle/SQL, SBO/TBO, DAR file development, GIT, eclipse, Windows server experience, and familiarity with Security/Information Assurance guidelines.
    • Successful candidate must be able to obtain and retain a Department of Interior security clearance.   Candidates must be authorized to work in the US and a resident of the US for the previous 3 years with no longer than a 90 day absence.
