  • Job Description

    1. Manages and leads GDITs space improvement projects which may include managing work performed by landlords to improve a space and/or a tenant improvement allowance for such improvements.
    2. Ensures project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified.  
    3. Finds balance between task-oriented approach and customer-service solution methodology in presenting options to clients.  
    4. Has team-oriented approach to developing solutions.  
    5. Ability to draft Requests for Proposal by utilizing existing forms.  
    6. Creates project budgets and manages to such budgets to keep costs under control.  
    7. Manages project management vendor companies, as appropriate for applicable projects.  
    8. Utilizes basic understanding of commercial real estate leasing toward finding solutions to space improvement projects.  
    9. Demonstrates understanding of design planning process and architectural review processes to enable completion of build-out.  
    10. Skilled at managing large amounts of spreadsheet data in excel and understanding impacts and changes to headcount analyses.  
    11. Skilled at managing third-party vendors such as sign vendors, general contractors, architects, furniture vendors and project managers and being able put GDITs needs first in such evaluations.
    12. Ability to work with procurement officer on making recommendations that follow GDIT Procurement policy in determining Best Value for GDIT.  
    13. Utilizes strong GDIT ethics in decision-making as it relates to cost, evaluation of vendors and establishment of scope of work.  
    14. Understands how to manage change on projects by managing scope of work and suggested improvements for reduced cost.  
    15. Manages utilization of space and facilities for company consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency, and available facilities and funds.  
    16. Plans, directs and manages all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and building projects from establishment of architectural concepts through design and implementation.  
    17. Acts as primary contact for facilities, and equipment and machinery maintenance, project activities and leads project reviews of cost, schedule and technical performance. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules. 
    18. Identifies problems and develops solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing project scope. May coordinate the work of employees assigned to the project.


    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Real Estate, Engineering or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.


    2. 8-10 years of related commercial real estate experience, including supervisory experience.
